A Few Changes in the New Year

Currently the Mt. Olivet Parish Hall is being renovated. So, for the moment ARTinA is meeting in the Mt. Olivet Church in Algiers Point. When construction on the hall is finished, the organization will resume meeting there.

Google recently moved the ARTinA website from “Google Pages” to “Google Sites.” The new address is http://sites.google.com/site/artinaneworleans2/home. Google promises to forward folks who use the old address. The blogs linked to the site have their own addresses, but they have not changed. I will be tinkering with the layout, as I get used to the interface.

ARTinA begins the new year with a couple of new faces. Hopefully the trend will continue as more newcomers find out about ARTinA. Happy New Year! Happy Mardi Gras!

Hurricane Season

With summer winding down, it is almost time to gear up for all the fall events in the New Orleans area. But first we have to endure the peak of hurricane season. This month we face the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the flood. The date 8/29 has been etched in memory. Hopefully by late September we’ll be able to breath a sigh of relief.

In the meantime there’s much painting and planning to do. The fall art season kicks off with Art for Art’s Sake on October 4th. We’ll be hosting our outdoor show that same weekend in conjunction with the Algiers Point Association Home Tour. In the meantime be safe.

Happy New Year! Happy Mardi Gras!

Greetings artists and art lovers. Welcome to the new ARTinA site. During the next month there will be additions to our site and to our connected blogs in order keep you up to date on all of our upcoming activities.

Today is the beginning of parade madness around town. So, I don't want to make this any longer than necessary. Have a great time and I'll be in touch.
